Polythene plastic is a widely used material in the packaging industry due to its increased water resistance, strength, and versatility. While not being as eco-friendly as paper alternatives, all polythene products supplied from Packaging Express are produced using at least 30% recycled content to try and minimise environmental impacts. We stock a wide range of items commonly used by both businesses and households.

Layflat Tubing

Ideal for creating customised bag sizes when conventional bags just won’t do the job. Sold on a roll for continuous use, it’s basically a polythene bag with no top or bottom. The length of each bag is determined by whatever length of film you pull from the roll, with widths ranging from 50mm to 610mm. Layflat tubing is less expensive, faster, and more versatile than conventional packaging, saving you both time and money. There are two strengths available: 250 gauge for medium-duty items, and 500 gauge for heavy items. Medium-duty film can be used to make bags for lighter items such as clothing, office supplies, banners, pastries, cards, posters, sports equipment, games, and much more. Heavy-duty is strong and durable enough to pack flooring, mats, components, metals, paintings, or even rocks! When a higher level of puncture resistance is required to protect your items, use 500 gauge polythene. Use staples, tapes, and ties to close the bags, but for a more professional look and feel, they can be sealed using our range of Impulse Heat Sealers.

Grip Seal Bags

Made from a clear film that’s both burst and tear-resistant, helping to protect and display your items. Grip seal bags can be used for stock control, storage, or for displaying your goods. Each bag has a strong grip seal closure and can be easily opened and closed by simply pushing together the opposing grips and applying light pressure. Don’t forget that they’re reusable and can be used in certain applications multiple times. Protect against dust, dirt, humidity, and moisture. Food approved, so you know they're a quality product made from the highest standards of film.

Polythene Bags

Clear open-topped bags, available in eight sizes and two strengths. For light-duty items, use 100 gauge film, while heavy-duty items are better suited to the stronger 200 gauge. Made of LDPE food-grade polythene, and used in a wide range of industries such as catering, tech, retail, mail-order, advertising, engineering, e-commerce, and so on. They can be sealed by hand with packing tape, staples, and twist ties, or quickly and easily with a heat sealer.

Refuse Sacks, Industrial Sacks & Wheelie Bin Liners

The 140 gauge thick black refuse sacks are commonly used for heavy-duty applications, made from high-quality polythene, they are suitable for use around the house or in industrial workplaces. With a bag capacity of around 90 litres, they are designed to hold a significant amount of waste, and therefore need to be emptied less frequently. Our clear refuse sacks, which are slightly thinner at 120 gauge, are ideal for medium-duty use and are best suited for domestic, garden, and office waste. We also sell black wheelie bin liners, they fit into all different types of bins, and are ideal for the sanitary disposal of lighter duty items. Finally, the woven builders sacks are strong enough for all types of heavy-duty use, even including construction, because our sacks are made from a 900 denier woven fabric for superior strength. Ideal for garden waste and heavy industrial waste.
